What It Does

CNCS is the automated communications backbone of MFX — a rule-based notification engine that detects order state changes across all modules and dispatches targeted emails without manual intervention. Configure once what each customer, carrier, or internal contact receives and when; the system handles delivery from there.

Notification Entities

Every notification routes through a Notification Entity — a named configuration object grouping customers, contacts, carriers, and locations with defined event rules. Contacts can be scoped by customer, carrier, or location so each person receives only the notifications relevant to their role, not every alert on the account.

Event-Driven Dispatch

CNCS handles 16+ event types: shipment started/completed, potential delivery delays, shipping schedule reports, order confirmations/cancellations, feedback summaries, 3PL notifications, and shift reports. Loading log status changes trigger shipment notifications automatically — no manual send step from the operator.

Message Queue & Audit Trail

Every notification flows through cncs.EventQ with tracked statuses from NEW through SEND_SUCCESS or SEND_FAILED. Administrators can resend (same content), regenerate (rebuilt from current data), skip, or forward any message from the web interface. The complete delivery history is queryable across time windows up to two years.

Customer Zones & Delay Tolerance

Customer Zones group accounts by distance from the shipping point. When a loading delay occurs, the system checks whether the delay exceeds the configured tolerance for that zone before issuing a delay notification — suppressing alerts for minor delays that won't affect the customer's receiving schedule.
